It's been 3 long weeks since we lost Cheyenne.
Since then, we've adopted Waylon. What a monkey. He's definately no Chey, but he's a pretty smart, fairly well-behaved 10 month old German Chow-weiller (that's AKC for German Shepherd, chow, rotweiller).

They fixed him the day we picked him up, and sent him home with us with a cone on his head, and told us to keep him quiet for a week. But they didn't send any valium. That was a long week, but today he got his cone off and can run. So Bob works with him daily, and swears at him a lot, but he's got a lot of potential.

We continue to clean the compound here, and have tackled our second room remodelling job. This one's a bit more work, but it keeps us busy. The motel is getting busier, so i have lots of work daily. Between that and the monkey, we're staying out of trouble. No golf, beach visits, fishing, swap meets or Key West adventures lately, but that's ok. Lots of company coming in the next few weeks:), so we're working long days to get it all done. (Actually, it'll never be all done) Wayne & Vicky and Rick & Sandy (from FDL) were here for a long weekend last week (they visit wherever we go, it seems! and it's ALWAYS a good time).

We were able to go to Key West while they were in town and visit the "butterfly conservatory while we were there. Very cool...Bob said that must be what heaven is like...very peaceful with soft music playing in the background, warm, sunny, exotic plants and butterflys everywhere. The weather continues to be gorgeous, still 80 and sunny most days, and 70's at night. So hard to believe it's so cold and snowy at home. Sorry.Today a repairman from the frame manufacturer was here to straighten and fix the frame on our camper. Hopefully they won't bill us for the repair, but we're very happy to have that part fixed.More soon, I hope...
