Elkhart Co. Fairgrounds, Goshen, IN

It's been a while since our last entry:( We're completely finished with the shop; spent time there until the end of June helping, then pretty much cut the apron strings:)
Spent the majority of the summer in the Appleton area, parking in Lyle & Lisa's and Dave & Stacie's yards, helping out with landscaping, painting, moving, remodeling,... in order to stay out of trouble.Lots of people needed help.

We spent time with Penny
and Bob & Patty camping and riding bikes on the Elroy-Sparta trail. We camped at Fly's . Helped Ross tie up loose ends on the house and the move.

Bob finished out his Supermoto racing career with a 2nd place finish at WIR in Kaukauna.

We Sold Becky's 4Runner and traded in the Ford on a newer, more capable Chevy dually. We then left the Appleton area on 8/3 for a while.

Stopped in at Wayne & Vic's in Fond du Lac on our way to the state fair in Milwaukee (we've never been able to go there before!), then to the Chicago area again to visit Dan & Bev and Von & Ferris , then toward Massachutsetts, stopping in Elkhart, IN for a RV rally.

We fell in love with and couldn't argue with the price, so we bought a new home! Our camper was just fine until we started looking at the new stuff! We started to see diferences between recreational camping models and full time living models. But we found a deal we couldn't pass on. It's a 2008 Landmark Augusta 5th wheel byHeartland...40 ft long, 4 slides, and it's a beautiful home!!! So we get to move in on Wednesday, and will stay at the dealer's "campground" til then (for free). This is a great area! In Shipshewana is a huge flea market, and this is big Amish/ Mennonite country. So there's horses & buggies everywhere...even at the Walmart there's a stable in the parking lot for them! Unfortunately, we broke our camera a few weeks ago, and had to send it in for fixing, so no recent photos. Hope to have it back soon to post some pictures of our new home. I believe it's on the Heartland website, if anyone is interested. We golfed here for the first time in months; Bob was laid up with gout for about 6 weeks, but is all better now. Met a lot of nice people too...the first night at the campground a bunch of the "neighbors"came over and we had drinks and talked smack, and this became the thing to do for the next few nights! They're mostly gone now; we were the only ones in the group that bought a new rig. Today it's raining and cold (60 degrees), so we're just relaxing, wasting time, and waiting for Wednesday! Then we'll head east and spend a few months working our way toward the keys for the winter:) Hope all is well with everyone, and as always, we welcome your emails.Until next time...
